Overview:

In this role, responsibilities will include analyzing & tracking incoming bankruptcy notices and payments on bankrupt and collection of recovery accounts. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills with a strong capability of making sound decisions.
Responsibilities:

File Proofs of claim in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 asset cases
Process bankruptcy discharge and dismissal notices on system
Process reaffirmation agreements
Prepare legal assignments for attorneys and assists with skip tracing and finding assets
Research account disputes and recommend appropriate resolution
Completes Credit Line closure in accordance with guidelines
Charge off delinquent loans and shares on the core system
Investigate and respond to credit reporting/ Chexsytem disputes in accordance with guidelines
Update member’s credit account status on the system
Report negative shares charge-offs to Chexsystem
Assists members with disability, unemployment and death claims
Assigns vehicles for repossession. Review Stored/Lien Sale notices
Prepared Notices of Intent, Deficiency Balance Notices, Fannie Mae Mortgage Solicitation letters and Breach Notices
Prepare invoices for collections department
Manage phone queues and to ensure inbound call are handled per established service level agreements
Provide support to collection and branch personnel to effectively resolve member situations
Posting of monthly Bankruptcy Trustee, Collection agency, Attorneys and member payments
Collects past due balances on charged-off loans/shares and negotiates payment arrangements or assists in asset liquidation process
Ensures all member contact is conducted in a respectful and professional manner and in full compliance with regulations and the credit union’s standards
Supports management decisions and implement directives as required. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

2 year College Degree Preferred
Knowledge of Collection Process
Knowledge of US Bankruptcy System
Knowledge of collection process for non-BK charge-off recovery members
Skip Tracing experience
Very strong organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team player
Strong negotiation skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to meet numerous deadlines in fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently
