Job Description :
PROJECT SCHEDULER
Seeking a Project Scheduler to help build and maintain schedules for various project types, including determining the timing of tasks associated with procurement, fabrication, assembly, installation, inspection, and testing. The Scheduler develops and maintains project schedules with the construction project team to meet owner and project requirements. Schedulers should have experience working in Primavera P6 and MS Project and be familiar with complex aerospace projects.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Scheduler on projects of varying scope, type and complexity with preference given for projects greater than $10M in value.
Experience in developing and implementing Project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software. Minimum 2 years of Primavera P6 scheduling experience required.
Follow general scheduling best practices as defined in PMI scheduling standards and guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment interfacing with multiple disciplines and levels of management in various office, fabrication shop, and field settings.
1-2 years of construction/related experience required; government/aerospace experience preferred.
Must possess a thorough understanding of CPM scheduling principles and application. Experience with resource and cost-loaded scheduling.
Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
Good analytical and planning skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer skills.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
Must have good attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Good work ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
Ability to read and interpret contract specifications and drawings.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, construction or business discipline from an accredited college or university or more than 5 years’ experience as a project scheduler.
2 years of demonstrated experience managing a schedule using Primavera P6, with successful completion of an advanced level Primavera course a preference. Certification in either the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and or PMI Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is a preference but not required.
Duties:
Develop new project schedules for a variety of projects using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project software.
Maintain project schedules including progress updates and revisions related to changed scope and requirements.
Revise forecasts and evaluate impact of delay related to changed scope and/or requirements.
Communicate status of schedule and key risk areas to members of project management team.
Understand and implement accepted Planning & Scheduling Best Practices.
Ability to receive, incorporate, and communicate updates from the PM, Superintendents, and Subcontractors.
Create and distribute regular updates on multiple projects.
Evaluate actual construction status relative to proposed plan.
Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards.
Produce Cost Loaded Schedules for the purpose of coordinating and tracking project work tasks and costs.
Ensure accuracy of project schedules and maintain version control.
Develop rough estimate of labor hours needed to perform work and determine activity durations.
Inform management of abnormal or critical situations such as activities delaying or impacting the critical path.
Communicate status of milestones, changes, and updates to the project team.
