Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or a relevant field
5 years of proven work experience in product management or a relevant combination of education and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of product line management, product life cycle and multiple season product development processes
Understanding of technical aspects of product development
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of cross-functional business processes

Job Summary
As a Product Manager, you’ll drive all aspects of a product from conception to sale – strategy, creation, positioning and profitability. You’ll need to show cross-functional leadership and have the ability span Product Development and Product Marketing to oversee the line planning and product creation process. You’ll utilize your understanding of the competitive landscape and customer needs to identify new product opportunities. You’ll also take responsibility for product costing and margins as well as all aspects of each managed product. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with Marketing to drive clear communication of product features through marketing initiatives to our clients.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Finance/Accounting, Operations, Marketing and Sales to align objectives and optimize organizational efficiency
Develop industry expertise through the execution of market research and focus groups to drive well-informed, product-related opportunities and decisions
Build and manage product life cycle strategies from start to finish, while launching calendars and a comprehensive product portfolio
Develop pricing strategies for competitive positioning to increase sales and promotions
Analyze profit margins and compare competitors’ product lines in relation to the organization’s current offerings
Understand product creation as well as manufacturing processes and capabilities; build briefs with material and feature set commensurate to required target MSRPs
Manage timelines and calendars to ensure timely execution and delivery of products
Present product information to key internal and external groups in a comprehensive, clear and tactical manner
Serve as a liaison between business areas for the purposes of gathering client feedback to develop deeper insights and disseminate information pertaining to the status of product development
