Payroll/Benefits Specialist
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist -will work as part of the Payroll/HR Team and will be responsible for maintaining and processing all aspects of the weekly and biweekly payroll and benefit administration. This position works collaboratively with all departments and performs all payroll processing through Paycor(HRM System). The successful team member must be able to process both Payroll and Benefits accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
Processing Onboarding/Offboarding
Accommodate staff with fringe benefits, pay related issues, general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, and wage deductions
Fulfill current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting
Processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
Expand systems and protocols to direct collection, calculation and entering of pay data
Investigate pay practices related to FLSA, other payroll areas, and fringe benefit
Process voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities
Handle quarterly and year-end payroll reports
Be able to co-function with internal business partners, Information Technology, and Human Resources to ensure security protocols for pay systems
Examine data entered in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave
Oversee regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger
Coordinates daily benefits processing, Handles enrollments, Cobras, terminations, changes, beneficiaries.
Oversees maintenance of employee files, benefit files and verify payroll deductions.
Requirements
– Comprehensive knowledge of Automated Payroll
– Strong familiarity with benefits administration
– Paycor experience Preferred
– FPC or CPP will be vital
– 2+ years of payroll experience
– Bilingual a plus
– Must have experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets
– Experience processing liens, garnishments, and various withholdings
