Mechanics are focused on helping us keep our vehicles on the road and delivering safe, reliable rides to riders across our cities. As a mechanic, you’ll work with technology to service and repair the fleet and track important vehicle diagnostics. As a warehouse team member, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health of our fleet and in bringing safe, reliable rides to users every day.

The mechanic role demands a self-starting, challenge-seeking problem solver. We’re looking for someone who is process-driven, detail-oriented, and organized, but also excited to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty.

This role is a
FULL-TIME opportunity hired directly with Wheels
AM/PM.

As a Mechanic, you will work up to 40 hours each week based on scheduling and your availability. AM/PM SHIFT

What you will do:

Perform basic to complex repair sour fleet vehicles to the highest of standards; assessing wear and tear, accidental damage, etc.
Assist with maintaining a consistent inventory of parts and tools.
Perform quality checks on new and repaired vehicles.
Maintain mechanic workspace and tools to the highest level of organization and professionalism.
Receive and prepare new fleet shipments for the road.
Use our app to test ride bikes to ensure they are ready for the road.
Create feedback loops with the relevant stakeholders; improving and iterating on our existing processes and policies.

What you’ll need:

Strong mechanical aptitude and interest.
Flexibility is an absolute must, we’re a start-up in every sense – things change on a daily so we’re hoping you’re able to flex outside your responsibilities, and/or work slightly different days/ hours where required.
A willingness to learn, and a real motivation to build skills as a technician.
Excellent skills with hand tools and the ability to lift over 40 pounds, repeatedly.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to self-manage and also work well in a team environment.
A passion for bikes, micro-mobility, last-mile logistics, tech, and/or reducing the environmental impact of the transportation industry.
A smartphone and proficiency using mobile technology.
Previous experience with electric bikes or scooters is a plus!

NOTE: For this role, the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance is a must! We are a fast-paced startup and we are all dependent on one another to be reliable team members!!!

Physical Requirements and Special Demands:

Must be comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy outdoor urban environments.
Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time.
Frequently bend and twist throughout the day.
Regularly lift over 40 lbs.

All warehouse work areas/stations are separated by at least 6 feet.
Hand washing/sanitizing stations located at each entrance and throughout the facilities.
PPE equipment (mask, gloves) will be provided for each team member.
Team member temperature checks prior to shift with forehead thermometers.
Work areas/tools/vans are sanitized before and after each shift.
All inbound and outbound devices at our warehouse are sanitized with disinfectants and UV wands.
