Northrop Grumman’s Employee Experience Communications team seeks a creative employee communications manager who is confident in being a strategic advisor, thrives on the challenge of informing and inspiring employees around business priorities and culture, loves to story tell and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment. This position reports to the Employee Experience Communications manager for Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector and is located in Redondo Beach, California, with opportunities for a flexible / hybrid work schedule.
In this job, you’ll:

Lead a diverse team of Employee Communications professionals who are informing and inspiring employees and driving business priorities within a division of the company’s Space Systems sector.
Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to executive leaders, providing insights, perspective and counsel on communications strategies and issues.
Manage senior executive communications plans, including developing and measuring talking points, speeches, video scripts, employee announcements and executive summaries. In partnership with others, lead and/or oversee content and logistics for executive events, including virtual and in person webcasts, and site visits.
Support the Employee Experience team in developing, implementing and measuring employee, executive, culture and change communications strategies, plans and tactics. Ensure all communications are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand. This role requires the ability to interpret business initiatives in a simple, compelling way for diverse audiences across the division.
Drive continuous improvement of communications plans, tactics and processes through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment. Be an advocate for measurement within your team. Support your team in translating metrics into actionable intelligence for the organization.
Be a storyteller – conceptualize and oversee teammates responsible for foraging and producing a diverse array of inspirational content that supports our business goals and Communications objectives.
Serve as a key leader and information liaison during emergencies that impact employees.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience -OR- a Master’s degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field and 8 years of experience.
Experience in employee and executive communications.
Experience managing people.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail.
Proficient in Associated Press Style.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications

Active security clearance is a plus.
Communications and leadership experience with large, complex organizations is preferred.
Experience with communications tools including website content management systems such as SharePoint and other digital communications tools such as Confluence and SmartSheet.
Familiarity with the Adobe Suite of products and a basic understanding of HTM is a plus.
Experience with Associated Press Style.
Experience producing omni-channel editorial content for a newspaper, news channel, video, magazine or other venue.

Salary Range: $118,600 USD – $178,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
