Job Description :
JOB SUMMARY: Provide regional leadership, technical assistance, and staff development for ESC-20 clients in the areas of school health, physical education, and school safety.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: JOB KNOWLEDGEBachelor’s degree required from an accredited universityThree years of relevant school health and/or school safety experience required.Community health experience preferred.Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learnersExperience in providing professional development to adult learners both in person and virtuallyStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAmerican Heart Association First Aid / CPR Instructor certification preferred.Ability to independently develop and conduct professional development training that aligns with program data, goals, and objectives.Demonstrated effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology.Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (e.g., word processing electronic spreadsheets) and e-mail.Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and working in a network environment.Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.
PRODUCTS/OUTCOMESProvide or assist with the coordination and scheduling of the required school health related training with the Texas Department of State Health Services (vision, hearing, spinal, etc.).Provide or assist with the Stop the Bleed and Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistant training.Provide or assist with the coordination of First Aid / CPR and CPR / BLS training.Provide technical assistance and facilitate meetings for LEA PE and Health Coordinators.Participate in the establishment and facilitation of School Health Advisory Councils (SHACs).Provide technical assistance for LEA staff on school health requirements.Provide training to district personnel on current topics in school health administration.Participate in the coordination of nursing continuing education hours for professional development sessions provided.Facilitate quarterly nurse coordinator meetings for LEA professionals.Assist with the coordination of trainings and services for the School Safety Cooperative and School Safety Audits.Responsible for performing LEA safety audits as required by the State and TEA.Participate in the coordination and tracking school safety audit data as required by the State and TEA.Work collaboratively with the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC).Work in collaboration with school counseling, school health, and school law enforcement to promote school safety initiatives and legislative requirements.Serve as a liaison between districts and community resources, and local, state, and federal agencies.

SUPERVISION AND ORGANIZATION OF STAFFNone.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITYParticipate in development, preparation, and administration of the budget for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.Posture: Prolonged sitting/standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent region-wide travel; occasional statewide/nationwide travel; exposure to low or intense illumination.Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSFunction within the policies and administrative procedures of ESC-20.Accept other responsibilities as assigned.Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting.Travel independently to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Serve at the will of the Executive Director.
FUNDINGThis position is partially funded out of state and/or federal grant funds. These programs are implemented in compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory provisions. The duties associated with this position are allowable and allocable to the grant funding. Time and effort records for this position are in accordance with the requirements in the applicable Office of Management and Budget (OMB) cost principles.Deadline to apply: August 26, 2022

Pay: $5,425.00 – $6,102.00 per month
