Group Sales Manager

The FEC Sales Manager plans, develops, coordinates and executes all direct selling activities to increase group sales, group sales special event and birthday party revenue therefore enhancing the FEC profitability. Performs the entire range of direct selling duties and processes including initiating and developing new group sales, group sales special event and birthday party business, encouraging repeat group sales, group sales special event and birthday party business and developing business relationships that will lead to closing group sales, group sales special event and birthday party business within various market segments including but not limited to individuals (birthday party), schools, churches, youth, corporate, military, recreation, travel/tourism, 501-3c and other non-profit groups.
90% or more of the Sales Manager’s weekly activity is engaged in the direct selling of established group sales programs and products to groups, the direct selling of established birthday party programs and products to individual birthday party planners and the creation, development and execution of new and existing group sales special events. 10% or less of the Sales Manager’s weekly activity is engaged in assisting the FEC General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Corporate Vice President and Director of Marketing & Sales – FEC in the planning, development and execution of mass market consumer marketing initiatives which target the property’s transient market.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Meets or exceeds all established group sales, group sales special event and birthday party revenue targets for the FEC.
Meets or exceeds each week all established outbound quality direct sales contact goals.
Highly motivated, “self starter” with a team focused approach able to work in a cooperative, efficient manner with his/her Palace FEC team as well as the Corporate team.
Ability to follow all Palace Entertainment policies, procedures and Rules of Conduct.
Ensures that each business day a proper balance of outbound quality direct sales contacts are completed to prospective new group sales, group sales special event and/or birthday party clients and to existing group sales, group sales special event and/or birthday party clients.
Builds top of mind business relationships within the various market segments that will lead directly to solid growth in group sales, group sales special event and birthday party revenue for the Palace FEC. Attend as necessary/if necessary Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitor Bureau and similar organizations’ events.
Effectively and efficiently communicates to the property team any and all information that is necessary to ensure all group sales and birthday party clients’ activities are serviced in a manner that meets or exceeds standards. Assists as necessary to ensure full and complete client satisfaction.
Ability to develop and maintain an accurate current data base of business contacts within the various market segments to ensure solid execution and accuracy in terms of direct mail campaigns and all other direct selling related activity.
Ability to prepare and submit on a timely basis accurate and thorough reports as requested by the General Manager and/or members of the Corporate team.
Provides on a timely basis to the FEC General Manager and the Corporate Director of Marketing & Sales – FEC thorough and complete information related to the property’s market segments, its competition, community events, school holidays and other information and data that may impact the property’s business.
To ensure continued revenue growth, recommend to the FEC General Manager and the Corporate team new (or modifications to existing) group sales, group sales special event and birthday party programs and products.
To ensure continued revenue growth, recommend to the FEC General Manager and Corporate Director of Marketing & Sales – FEC new (or modifications to existing) group sales, group sales special event and birthday party programs and products that will drive repeat visitation(s) from the client, group or a specific market segment.
With guidance and direction of the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and/or the Corporate Director of Marketing & Sales – FEC, assist as needed in the execution of corporate led, regionally led or individual FEC led mass market consumer marketing and promotion initiatives and campaigns that target the FEC transient market.
To ensure continued revenue growth, provide as requested to the FEC General Manager and the Corporate Director of Marketing & Sales – FEC, mass market consumer marketing and promotions concepts and initiatives that may be targeted to the FEC transient market. Assist, as needed, with the execution of such campaigns.
Effectively and efficiently communicate to the FEC team any and all information that is necessary to ensure proper execution of all consumer mass market marketing and promotions campaigns targeting the transient market.
Ability to be trained to operate FEC POS system and other IT systems utilized by the FEC that pertain to the sales and marketing functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. Equivalent experience is preferred.
2-5 years of direct selling experience in a retail, hospitality, leisure or family entertainment Sales environment is preferred
Scheduling and performance oversight of Birthday Party Hosts and Hostesses. Ensure that initial and ongoing training is provided.
General knowledge of MS Office.
Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Safety Rules, Operating & Maintenance Instructions and Procedural Manuals.
Ability to speak professionally and effectively before groups, guests, FEC team members and supervisors/managers within the Palace Entertainment organization.
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. These situations may involve guests, FEC team members and supervisors/managers within the Palace Entertainment organization.
