Position Highlights

Work location: Texas Health HEB: 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022
Work environment: Radiology Diagnostic
Work hours: Full Time (36 Hour) Day Shift; Fri-Sun 9a-930p, no call, holidays required
Sign-on bonus for eligible Radiographers (eligible upon hire with a signed retention agreement)

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is a 296-bed, acute-care facility serving Northeast Tarrant County since 1973. With more than 550 physicians on its medical staff, hospital services include outpatient surgery, women’s services, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a dedicated oncology unit and cardiac rehabilitation. Qualifications

Education

Other- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology upon hire required Or
Associate’s Degree preferred
Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

1 year radiologic technologist experience preferred
OR and Fluoro experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required And
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists 6 months required And
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Position Responsibilities
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Radiographer…
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing

Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest
Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

Patient Care

Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions
Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Adjusts technical factors
Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
Applies knowledge of physics and accessories
Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors)

Professional Accountability and Partnership

Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner
Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality improvement
Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary
Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
