Nevada County Community Development Agency is looking for an organized individual to fill the position of Administrative Analyst I. This is an integral part of the Agency’s team whose mission is to assist higher-level management with grant research and management, contract administration and monitoring, special projects, and studies! This individual will provide support for the Board of Supervisor’s Recreation Objective, with an emphasis on public health and safety, sustainable tourism, organized recreation, and resiliency.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Principles and practices of public administration and policy establishment, management and organizational analysis, and research and analysis
Researching and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations affecting the activities of County government
County organization and functions
Personal computer hardware and software typically found in a standard office
Providing staff consultation to management
Preparing comprehensive reports, expository and business writing
Assisting with the administration of County programs
Representing County policies and programs with other government agencies and the general public
Communicating tactfully and effectively with County staff, elected officials, and members of the public on a variety of topics
Establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university, and one year of experience in administrative, budget or personnel analysis, and/or grant management, preferably in a public agency. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.

Sick Leave:

Temporary County employees shall accrue at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for each thirty (30) hours worked effective July 1, 2015. Temporary County employees can accrue a maximum of 48 hours of sick leave per fiscal year.

Medical Benefits:

Temporary employees whose assignments average 30 hours per week or more are eligible to enroll in County-sponsored medical benefits.
