Position Title
: Parent Liaison

Position Type: Salaried ($24,873 annual) /
Non-Exempt; Funded with Title I, Part A Funds

***(This position is contingent upon annual grant funding from the ESSA, Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs – Fund 211)

Position Hours: Full-time; Monday – Friday

Length of Term/Employment: 205 work days / At-will

Reports to: Campus Principal

Position Mission: Improves the collaboration between parents, school personnel and community members; increase parent involvement in the educational process of their child; helps close the achievement gap between at-risk students in Title I; improves the communication among school personnel and non-English speaking parents; serves as a liaison between parents and school personnel.


High School Diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency) preferred.
Bilingual spoken and written (English & Spanish) preferred.

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form in English and Spanish preferred.
Demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision and to exercise sound judgment informing decisions.
Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, other auxiliary personnel, students and the public community.
Knowledgeable of federal regulations pertaining to Title 1 and parental involvement procedures.


Experience related to working with students or with organizations such as church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, public schools or licensed day-care centers.
Experience using basic office equipment and filing systems

Responsibility and Duties:

Follows all district procedures and complies with federal, state, and district mandates.
Collaborates with staff, parents, and community contacts to ensure appropriate services to parents of Title 1 students.
Manages social media platforms for campus as needed.
Collaborate/Coordinate with District and PEIMS District/Campus personnel as the campus Liaison for the district “Homeless” community.
Strengthen Title I families and their involvement in the education of Title I students by encouraging these parents to form a strong school-family partnership to support student learning.
Contact Title I parents to remind them about conferences and parent night activities. If necessary, provide Spanish translations as needed for both meetings and paperwork to parents.
Organize and help distribute any Title I parent/student learning materials to be sent home.
Help review and evaluate Title I Parent Involvement Policy, Parent/Student/Teacher Compacts and any other relevant compliance documents needed for Title I campuses.
Participate in the Campus Needs Assessment (CNA) and the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) committees.
Coordinate with district and school staff in implementing parent education and a parent involvement program.
Recruit parents and community members to assist with school activities and program needs.
Schedule and coordinate parent education meetings based on training received.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with school personnel, community members, students, and parents.
Refer to school principal or counselor names of individuals needing social services.
Adhere to procedures regarding confidentiality.
Daily attendance at work and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
Perform other duties allowable by Title I, Part A as assigned.

Office equipment: personal computer, printer, calculator, multi-line telephone, radio communication equipment, cellular telephone or other equipment applicable to the position.
