Job Description :
The Splunk Internal Communications team is on a mission to inspire, engage and enable Splunkers worldwide. We are searching for an experienced storyteller and collaborator to assist Internal Communications for our Products & Technology organizations. You will be part of a forward-thinking, hard-working communications team that uncovers and improves stories, multimedia, and channels to engage employees and support business priorities and initiatives.
This role is global in scope and ideal for a communicator who excels in a rapid-growth, fast paced and highly collaborative environment. You will begin crafting exceptional and creative communications on day two (because day one is orientation). Your closest teammates are agile, passionate about employee comms, have diamond hands for Splunk and are fun – you should be too.
This is a hands-on role that requires a willingness to manage everything from small, tedious, behind-the-scenes work (we all do it) to cross-functional, multi-month projects with high visibility.
This US-based, remote role will report to Splunk’s Director of Internal Communications, and be part of a passionate communications team!

Assist with the planning and implementation of an employee communications strategy that will ensure product and technology teams have the content, information and knowledge they need, when they need it, where they need it.
Write (create), publish, distribute and measure multimedia content (i.e., stories) that support communication and business goals.
Partner closely with Splunk’s Products & Technology executive communications team to develop, facilitate and deliver innovative, scalable and delightful communications that improve productivity, support business goals, foster affinity with Splunk and Splunkers and inspire innovation.
Help manage multichannel communications, including email, newsletters, and Slack channels, as well as audio and visual assets.
Evolve existing and create new communication channels to ensure an optimal mix of top-down, sideways, and bottoms-up communication is taking place.
Assist leaders who participate in all-hands meetings, fireside chats, Ask Me Anything sessions, and other high-profile engagements.
Assist with the planning, curating and implementation of an employee communications strategy that supports the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) and Engineering Organization driving the quality and timeliness of deliverables and activities.
Partner very closely with Splunk’s ITS leadership and Change Management teams to develop and deliver innovative, scalable and delightful communications that improve productivity, change behaviors, support business goals, and inspire innovation.
Leverage data to evaluate communication activities, and develop best practices and strategies for improvement..
Assist Executive and Internal Communications leaders on an ad hoc basis. Be ready to drop what you’re doing to support a higher priority.
Actively partner with the global Internal Communications team to ensure alignment of internal messaging, timing and editorial strategies.
Partner closely with the Executive Communications, PR, Social Media, HR, Legal, and other teams and business partners.

Sharp critical thinking and outstanding writing and editing skills are a must. You are expected to influence Products & Technology employees’ knowledge, sentiment and behavior. Your headlines, subject lines, and lead paragraphs will be legend.
5+ years of experience managing communication content, strategies and programs.
Track record of innovating (and failing).
An ability to measure communication effectiveness and to use that data to improve messaging, programs and processes.
Experience in a high-growth environment, working with others in the tech space and engineers will be to your advantage.
A sense of fun (seriously).
