Job Description :
Overview/Purpose:

Lead the Foods Design to Consumer Value program to drive productivity, cost savings, environmental sustainability and consumer delight.
Accelerate Foods innovation to deliver ambitious Hain 3.0 sales and profit goals. Build robust innovation pipeline and lead the cross-functional team to execute with excellence.
Drive technical excellence, engagement and performance of a diverse and geographically dispersed product development team.
Positively influence functional peers on the R&D Leadership Team reporting to the Vice President, Head of R&D.
Partner with the Foods Pillar GM to drive prioritization and stage gate commercialization excellence in the Foods Business Leadership Team.
Play a leadership role in the R&D Centers of Excellence leveraging for both personal and team member development and growth.
Partner with Supply Chain to deliver both cost savings and innovation that is scaled for efficient production.
Leverage co-manufacturers and technical experts to deliver the strategic plan.
Represent Hain externally to build corporate reputation in innovation, product quality and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve on the Research & Development Leadership Team reporting to the Senior Vice President, Head of R&D.
Oversee the North America Foods Research & Development function. Represent R&D and serve as commercialization leader on the cross-functional Foods Pillar Business Team. The Foods Business Unit includes the following leading brands and businesses:

Earth’s Best infant, baby and toddler foods and snacks
Greek Gods Yogurt
Spectrum Culinary Oils and Supplements
Maranatha Nut Butters
Imagine Soups

Leverage and play a leading role in the R&D Centers of Excellence which include Sensory, Innovation, Project Management and Cost Savings.
Success is measured by metrics in the following areas:

Design to Consumer Value ingredient and finished product cost savings productivity
Robust innovation pipeline
Excellent innovation execution: annual and accumulative
Environmental sustainability
Organizational engagement

Requirements:

BS in Food Science or Engineering required, MS preferred, PhD a plus.
10+ years in Consumer-Packaged Goods R&D: product development, process engineering, structural package development or similar.
2+ years in technical management supervising teams of scientists, engineers and front-line technical professionals.
R&D / product development leadership experience in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment is preferred.
Experience serving as the functional technical lead on a cross-functional leadership team is preferred.
Computer skills required including MS office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The role manages a team of 3-4 direct reports of senior managers, managers, scientists and engineers.

Hours and Travel:

Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring every other week (Mon-Thurs) “in office” at the HQ in Lake Success, NY.
Periodic travel to co-manufacturing plants, suppliers, customers and trade shows.
