The ideal candidate for the Payroll/Human Resources Manager position will be caring and empathetic, responsible and professional, kind and has a true passion for supporting the human capital in the resort in order for them to achieve their highest potential. The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of the Human Resource function, with particular focus on payroll processing. This responsibilities will include all things payroll, including payroll processing. This position will also provide support for recruitment and retention, employee/labor relations, workers comp, counseling, safety and training/development, and any other HR functions. We are a team of two managers and a director, who support each other in all ways. The Payroll/HR Manager will, as needed, assist in the onboarding of new hires, planning colleague events, and handle general benefit issues. The successful candidate must be able to effectively troubleshoot issues and resolve in a timely manner, make independent decisions, work autonomously, be self-motivated, maintain the highest level of confidentially, be highly organized, and truly enjoy the work of an human resources professional. This is an exempt position.
Qualifications
Qualifications – External
At least 2 years of payroll processing experience to include full payroll processing for an organization.
At least 2 years of HR experience, with 1-2 years as an HR Manager/Generalist in a luxury environment, preferably at a Hyatt property.
Solid knowledge of CA wage & hour law required.
Solid knowledge of CA labor laws
Well organized and takes initiative to get things done.
Highly professional with a desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
The ability to maintain a positive attitude with integrity and maintain confidentiality is a must.
The ability to show genuine care and concern for others and a williness to help.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Experience with Taleo and Kronos a plus!
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable.
