Job Description :
The Foster Care bi-lingual adoption case planner’s role is to expedite permanency via Adoption, Kingap and TPR’s. This position is highly clerical in nature and requires excellent organizational skills as well as knowledge of the permanency planning and Family Court process. The Bi-Lingual Adoption Case Planner provides direct support to the Adoption Director and the entire Family Foster Care Program to ensure permanency is effectuated in a timely fashion. The Bi-Lingual Adoption Case Planner will work and communicate with Spanish speaking families receiving services and are interpreters for the department.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Bi-lingual Spanish speaking case planners work and communicate with Spanish speaking families receiving services and on an as-needed basis act as interpreters to facilitate communication throughout the department.
Order vital documents for all children upon intake and maintain a tracking spreadsheet
Initiate Diligent Searches for Parents and Extended Family Members when their whereabouts are unknown
Complete KinGap, Adoption Subsidy Applications, Interstate Compact Agreements (ICPC’s) and maintain a tracking spreadsheet
Thoroughly review case records to complete a Termination of Parental Right’s (TPR) packet to assist the agency attorney in filing a TPR petition in Family Court
Maintain a Weekly Court Calendar for the Family Foster Care Program
Liaise with attorneys/paralegals regarding the TPR, KinGap or Adoption Process
Provide ongoing support to case planning units regarding their pending Adoption, KinGap or TPR cases
Complete various clerical duties as needed
Work cooperatively with foster parents and all agency staff to ensure coordinated delivery of services to children and families
Attend training, as required by the Agency, and indicated by the Adoption Director
Complete other duties as assigned

Ability to interact with and complete assignments in a manner sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to effectively engage foster parents, and to work cooperatively with supervisor and administrators, as well as team members from ACS and outside legal staff.
Strong Organizational Skills
Strong Understanding of Permanency Planning
Ability to create correspondences in Spanish.
Proficiency in computers i.e., Word and Excel

Education & Experience

MSW or equivalent Human Service Masters degree, or Bachelors degree
Two (2) years of relevant child welfare experience.
Must be fluent in reading, writing and communicating in both English and Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,500.00 – $53,000.00 per year
