Job Description :
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our 1st shift team. This position is based out of our El Paso, TX facility. Starting rate of $15.00/hour.
Position Overview: The Material Handler will provide shipping and warehousing expertise to support in all areas of the Switchboard Team including, but not limited to, assembly, order picking, and shipping and receiving parts, with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.
In this function you will:

Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed.
Receive and process material kitting orders in a timely manner to execute production schedules
Complete inventory transactions and ensure accuracy
Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
Own and lead 5S process and discipline for assigned warehouse area
Receive and process incoming raw material and ensure inventory process is followed correctly
Prepare finished products for final shipment including: packaging, documentation, loading and ensure on time delivery
Safely operate warehouse equipment, including: forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), order picker, automatic pallet wrapper and pallet jack
Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, distribution, construction, industrial, military experience or current contractor for Eaton.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of warehouse experience in an industrial environment.
One or more years of forklift operation experience preferred

Position Criteria:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
Computer literate.
Knowledge of AS400, VISTA and MAPICS systems
Knowledge of Lean and continuous process improvements
Ability to lift. push, and pull up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to squat and reach above the head with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to physically operate a forklift with or without reasonable accommodation
