SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Description
At Playland, the Ride & Maintenance Technician is driven to provide a safe guest experience for all visitors. Under occasional supervision, you will install, inspect, maintain and perform mechanical and cosmetic repairs of amusement park rides, ensuring an efficient and safe operation at all times. You will be expected to learn all equipment’s system maintenance and repair as required. Brings a collaborative team-oriented approach with other Technicians and Operations team. Performs related technical duties as required including general facility maintenance when needed.
Duties May Include:

Performs all duties in a safe manner while inspiring best practices for co-workers and guests
Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of park rides, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times
Installs, maintains, rebuilds and inspects hydraulic, control, pneumatic and mechanical ride systems and components
Performs and assumes responsibility for daily pre-operation inspections on rides as required
Inspects and evaluates rides for proper function; detects and investigates any malfunctions or irregularities
Ensures rides are maintained according to adopted manufacturer, Playland, and Department of Labor guidelines to ensure the safety of ride operation and guests
Maintains clean and safe work areas; ensures the safe rigging of equipment.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs malfunctions using schematics, blueprints, test equipment and programmable logic controller diagnostics
Maintains lubrication schedules
Assists in the maintenance and troubleshooting of ride electrical systems and performs basic electrical component replacement as needed
Responds to calls promptly related to equipment
Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety
May assist in training ride operators
Participates as emergency personnel and work with operations team in emergency evacuation procedures; provides related training to key staff
Willing to attend industry workshops, trainings, meetings etc., to maintain skills and stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources
Receives and reviews various records and reports including but not limited to: NDT’s, ride manuals, operating schedules, inspection sheets, work orders, equipment inspection sheets, operational downtime sheets, material safety data sheets, oil analyses, etc
Prepares and/or processes maintenance records and documentation
Operates equipment and machinery which may include a vehicle, forklift, genie lift, boom truck, lathe, milling machine, steam cleaner, various shop equipment, and a variety of office equipment such as a computer/tablet, two-way radio, etc
Uses a variety of supplies and tools, which may include mechanic’s tools, carpentry tools, plumbing tools, welding equipment, heavy rigging, other hand and power tools, cleaning supplies, etc
Welds and/or fabricates parts as needed to maintain, modify and improve machine efficiency and operation
Performs facility maintenance including but not limited to landscape maintenance, lighting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, construction, etc
Assists and/or performs duties of ride operators as necessary
Performs related duties as required

Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent
3 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Some knowledge of electrical maintenance work is desired
Hand tools, steel-toe safety shoes
Regular attendance
Ability to work with other people
Maneuverability and mobility to work throughout Park property
Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays & flexible schedules (to include combination of day and evening shifts) and overtime when required
Able to work in inclement weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $45.00 per hour
