Job Description :
The Adirondack North Country Sports Council is the organizing committee for the upcoming FISU World University Winter Games in beautiful Lake Placid during January 2023! We also organize various multi-sport events in the local area. It is an exciting time to join our TEAM!
Position Engagement Period: 7/1/22 to 1/31/23
This position may be able to be performed in a remote capacity but would require the ability to work 100% onsite with our team in Lake Placid, NY in the Fall of 2022 (exact date to be determined) and the month of January 2023 for the Games!
Job Summary
The Manager of Athletes Village Administration will serve as the primary administrative core for multiple athletes’ village sites. Be an integral part of the team providing Athletes Village support to ensure that the 50 or more international sport delegations needs are being met. And to do this in accordance with the FISU Games Regulations and within the approved Lake Placid 2023 budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Work in close conjunction with multiple FAs to ensure delivery of key Athletes Village requirements (e.g., LP2023 Media Relations re: AV communications; Workforce re: Athlete Village workforce and volunteers, Accreditation re: accreditation/guest pass, Sport re: Sports Information Center, Transportation re: athlete movements to/from venues, etc. & Logistics re: move in/move out)

Plan and oversee Village Venue Team operational layouts at all Villages
Implement Village communications, including a communications ‘command and control’ center and interface with the MOC
Coordinate Athletes Village media and broadcast services, as applicable
Coordinate Athletes Village vendor list along with scheduling and payments
Coordinate provision of rate card items to Delegations together with Finance, Technology, Transportation and Logistics
Plan athlete lounges, entertainment & activities for all Villages
In conjunction with Marketing, coordinate all signage requirements at all Villages
Oversee Athletes’ Village guest passes and day passes (all locations)
Oversee the recruitment, training and scheduling of select AVM workforce and volunteers
Work with Logistics on all asset management requirements at multiple AV locations
Other activities as required

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience working with major multi-sport events, collegiate events, professional sports or NGB
Proven management, operations, and customer service experience
Experience working with public and private entities (i.e. colleges and schools)
Excellent communication, interpersonal; and organization skills
Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
Willing and able to adapt to change quickly
Strong problem-solving abilities
Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Previous experience with FISU
Experience in the hotel or hospitality industries
Strong understanding of winter sports
Experience working in Microsoft Teams
Experience working with Asana, Monday or other project management tools

Required Education and/or Training:

High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related industry such as Hospitality, Sports Management or Event Management is preferred.
