The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields.
A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based business is currently seeking a Technical Quality Specialist.
What you’ll do:
You’ll be part of the Quality Improvement Engine, a team that is responsible for setting up for success a new state-of-the-art automated packaging, labeling, and fulfillment operation. You will be leading Quality Continuous Improvement at the Fulfillment Center by performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and creating Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPA). Additionally, you’ll be overseeing the monitoring and analyzing of all data inputs that impact the health and compliance of the Fulfillment Center.
Author non-conformance (NC) and CAPA investigations ensuring timely closure and adequate investigations have been performed cross-functionally to drill down to root cause
Manage and implement corrections and containment for identified deviations
Create CAPA Plans to address identified root causes, monitor completion of the actions by stakeholders, and verify effectiveness after successful implementation
Investigate Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) complaints received from customers on an aggregate and monthly basis, escalating to RCA as warranted by Statistical Process Control (SPC) limits
Manage the internal audit program, creation action plans to address gaps identified, and partner with stakeholders to monitor completion
Build and monitor quality metrics to monitor performance of various processes and escalate as warranted
Where you’ll be: We are encouraging employees (whose job responsibilities allow) to work remotely with the option of returning to the office. You will be expected to spend your time working at our fulfillment center in Brooklyn, NY at least 3-4 days/week, with the option to work remotely the remainder of the time.
Who you are: You are somebody that is excited by an agile production environment, where change plays a major role, who is ready to take initiative and manage multiple responsibilities within a variety of assigned timelines. You thrive when challenged and are skilled in navigating ambiguity with minimal day-to-day management. You’re ready to roll up your sleeves because you are highly proactive, self-motivated, highly attentive to details, and have strong organizational and time management skills.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, engineering, or related field with excellent oral and written communication skills
Minimum 3-4 years work experience in FDA or ISO9001 (or related) regulated industry with a focus on quality investigations
Strong working knowledge of GxP/GMP compliance and guidance provided by Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Preferred but not required:
Experience working in an FDA-registered Food Facility with deep knowledge of Dietary Supplements and Human Foods regulations (21 CFR Parts 111 and 117)
Experience with electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) (e.g., Master Control, TrackWise, Veeva, Qualityze, etc.)
Experience in technical writing of GMP-friendly and auditable documentation
Certified in Lean Six Sigma or Quality Auditing
