Job Description :
The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields.
A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based business is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist.
What you’ll do: You’ll be part of the Quality Improvement Engine, a team that is responsible for setting up for success a new state-of-the-art automated packaging, labeling, and fulfillment operation. You will be the primary Quality Partner for change management/execution and document control for the fulfillment center. You will be responsible for ensuring the process changes are rolled out the production floor accurately, successfully, and compliantly.

Review and approve Change Requests submitted by stakeholders across the organization and advise on impact and risk assessments
Review and approve GMP-relevant documentation, including but not limited to SOPs, Work Instructions, and Forms.
Ensure that changes are rolled out to the production floor in a successful manner with the required revisions to the training matrix
Changes will stem from root cause analysis (corrective actions) and prioritized projects (process improvements and new product introduction/line item removals)
Subject Matter Expert and process owner for the Change Management process in the electronic Quality Management System with heavy cross-functional collaboration
Quality Partner for new product introductions & line item removals for the Fulfillment Center
Review & approve process investigations and partner with stakeholders on CAPA execution
Assess change impact to critical production control points such as, lot traceability, material control, allergen control, production records (MMRs/BPRs), etc.
Partner with other functional areas for ongoing continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

Where you’ll be: We are encouraging employees (whose job responsibilities allow) to work remotely with the option of returning to the office. You will be expected to spend your time working at our fulfillment center in Brooklyn, NY at least 3-4 days/week, with the option to work remotely the remainder of the time.
Who you are:You are somebody that is excited by an agile production environment, where change plays a major role, who is ready to take initiative and manage multiple responsibilities within a variety of assigned timelines. You thrive when challenged and are skilled in navigating ambiguity with minimal day-to-day management. You’re ready to roll up your sleeves because you are highly proactive, self-motivated, highly attentive to details, and have strong organizational and time management skills.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the sciences, engineering, or related field with excellent oral and written communication skillsMinimum 3-4 years work experience in FDA or ISO9001 (or related) regulated industry with a focus on Quality AssuranceStrong working knowledge of GxP/GMP compliance and guidance provided by Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Preferred but not required:Experience working in an FDA-registered Food Facility with deep knowledge of Dietary Supplements and Human Foods regulations (21 CFR Parts 111 and 117)Experience with electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) (e.g., Master Control, TrackWise, Veeva, Qualityze, etc.)Even if you don’t meet all the requirements, we still encourage you to apply!
