Residential Director
TITLE:
Residential Director
STATUS:
Salaried, Exempt
PURPOSE:
To provide oversight for the day-to-day operations of the residential program. To serve as a member of the Leadership Team of Lochland, Inc.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Residential Director is employed by Lochland, Inc. and is accountable to the Executive Director or his/her designee.
REPORTS TO:
The Executive Director
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, AND PERFORMANCE RESULTS EXPECTED:

Function: Supervision

Percentage of time spent: 20%

Tasks:
The Residential Director will provide daily supervision for the Assistant Residential Director, including ensuring s/he has done any assigned tasks.
The Residential Director will hold weekly managers’ meetings with each member of the Residential Services Team and keep notes on topics covered, issues addressed, and other relevant information.
The Residential Director will evaluate the Assistant Residential Director biannually.
The Residential Director, with the Assistant Residential Director, will evaluate the House Supervisors biannually using the Core Competencies Evaluation provided by OPWDD.
The Residential Director will provide progressive guidance for Assistant Residential Director, as required.
The Residential Director will ensure that all Assistant Residential Director maintains up-to-date training as required by Lochland, Inc. and OPWDD.
The Residential Director will perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

B. Performance meets expectations when:

The Residential Director provides answers to requests from the Residential Team no later than two (2) business days following the request.
Emergencies receive immediate attention and resolution by the Residential Director.
Weekly Manager’s Meetings with the Residential team are held with minutes distributed to all in attendance within two (2) days of the meeting.
Evaluations of the Residential Team members are completed by the deadlines assigned.
Any necessary progressive guidance and documentation is completed within five (5) days of the incident being reviewed, unless directed otherwise by a supervisor.
The Residential Director reviews completion of assigned training to ensure that the Residential Team members are compliant at least monthly.
The Residential Director completes any requested tasks by the deadline required by his/her supervisor.
Function: Administration

Percentage of time spent: 60%
A. Tasks

The Residential Director will oversee the schedule for Direct Support Professionals, including managing all vacation requests, sick leave requests, and long-term leave requests within the required timeframe.
The Residential Director will maintain personnel records for individuals s/he supervises to assist with evaluations.
The Residential Director will assure the completion of all pre-Life Plan meeting paperwork and meetings with the residents prior to scheduled Life Plan meetings.
The Residential Director will attend all Life Plan meetings, as well as all additional meetings for residents, as required.
The Residential Director will prepare all Residential Habilitation Plans, Safeguard Plans, Money Management Assessments, and Personal Expenditure Plans, ensuring that the QIDP signs all habilitation plans in a timely manner.
The Residential Director will ensure that copies of all approved plans and related paperwork are put into resident’s charts prior to the effective date.
Monthly, the Residential Director will ensure that all evacuation plans are up-to-date and all evacuation drills are conducted and documented in a timely manner.
The Residential Director will complete all required audits in Medisked as required for billing and will address performance issues related to documentation in a timely manner.
The Residential Director will participate in monthly all-staff meetings to review any relevant information, work on teambuilding, and confer with Direct Support Professionals.
The Residential Director will ensure that any MOIRs are investigated, signed, and forwarded to the Special Review Committee in a timely manner.
The Residential Director will maintain a record of attendance for all DSPs and will follow the Progressive Guidance Process for any issues that arise.
The Residential Director will ensure that a record of all assignments, including the cause of and location of them, is maintained and available to the Executive Director when requested.
The Residential Director will work with the Human Resources Coordinator and Training Coordinator to recruit, interview, and train new Direct Support Professionals.
The Residential Director will complete all POCA requirements in a timely manner.
The Residential Director will complete all IRC recommendations by the assigned date.
The Residential Director will attend all required training events.
The Residential Director will attend all meetings for the agency or residents, as requested.

B. Performance meets expectations when:

An accurate daily schedule is maintained and available to anyone who needs the information.
The Residential Director ensures that all monthly summaries, audits, notes, fire drills, staffing issues, time off requests, and staff evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
Updated records are maintained for each person supervised by the Residential Director.
Paperwork from the pre-Life Plan meeting with the resident is complete and prepared for the Life Plan meeting.
Updated plans are provided to the QIDP for review no later than the established timeline.
All information required to update Medisked or charts is completed no later than the effective date, and all information matches.
Evacuation plans are kept up-dated, including any changes to resident-specific guidelines, which also may require updates to resident safeguards.
Audits in Medisked are completed in the timeframe directed by the Director of Finance and the billing process.
Issues related to documentation are addressed as soon as they are discovered.
Agendas for Manager’s Meetings are prepared no later than 10:00 a.m. two (2) days prior to the meeting for distribution to the Residential Team members.
The Residential Director will thoroughly investigate all MOIRs and appropriately document all findings according to Lochland policy, including the timelines as specified by the policy.
Attendance records are maintained on an on-going basis and Progressive Guidance reports are completed in a timely manner.
The Assignment Tracking report is maintained and available at any time for the Executive Director.
Agendas and preparation for All Staff Meetings will be completed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday of the meeting week.
POCA requirements are completed by the date assigned.
IRC recommendations are completed by the date assigned.
The Residential Director attends all trainings required for his/her position.
The Residential Director attends all meetings as required by his/her supervisor.
Function: Leadership and Training

Percentage of time spent: 20%

Tasks:
The Residential Director will attend all Leadership Meetings.
The Residential Director will serve on the Special Review Committee.
The Residential Director, in cooperation with the Director of Day Services and the Executive Director, will develop and utilize a Recruitment and Retention Plan for Direct Support Professionals.
The Residential Director, in cooperation with the Human Resources Coordinator and Training Coordinator, will develop a regular training schedule for new employees.
The Residential Director will supervise all in-house and resident specific training, as required.
The Residential Director will ensure that all resident-specific training and in-house training documentation is updated monthly.
The Residential Director will provide the Assistant Residential Director and House Supervisors position-specific training.
The Residential Director will regularly assess the needs of the residents and evaluate the services being provided.
The Residential Director will seek to provide such services as may be requested by the residents or may be deemed essential to the overall well-being, health, or safety of the residents.
Performance meets expectations when:
The Residential Director attends all Leadership meetings and is prepared to present on progress related to the goals/expectations established for his/her position.
The Residential Director ensures that all MOIRs are completed and ready for committee review prior to the meeting each month.
The Residential Director, along with the Director of Day Services and the Executive Director, develop a plan by September 1stof each year for the recruitment and retention of Direct Support Professionals.
The Residential Director is fully prepared to provide any requested training as required by his/her supervisors.
The Residential Director will ensure that a schedule for the resident-specific training for each new hire, with an accompanying trainer, is developed prior to the beginning of each new training group that is scheduled.
The Residential Director reviews and revises, as necessary, the resident-specific training documents by the fifteenth (15th) of each month.
An assessment of the needs and satisfaction of the residents is completed and documented every six (6) months.
An approved plan for the provision of residential services to meet the needs and satisfaction of the residents is prepared every six (6) months.

EVALUATION:
In addition to ongoing feedback from supervisors, there is a biannual evaluation of performance completed by the Executive Director.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
