The Knox School of Saint James, NY, a nonsectarian, independent college preparatory boarding and day school for grades six through twelve with a post-graduate year, is currently accepting applications for Athletics Coaches for the 2022/2023 school year.

Job Description – The Knox School Coach
The Knox School Coaches must be able to direct, instruct, manage, and train individuals pertaining to a specific sport and must facilitate a sportsmanlike team. Most coaches are also teachers at The Knox School. This is preferred, but not required.
Role of the Coach

Assist student-athletes in developing to their full potential
Train student-athletes in a specific sport
Analyze the student-athlete’s performance and provide feedback for improvement
Instruct student-athletes in the skills relevant to the sport
Provide encouragement to all student-athletes

Responsibilities of the Coach

Motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their potential in any area or to improve on areas for improvement
Actively participate in professional development and work collaboratively with coaches and instructional leaders to improve instructional training practices
Develop specific skill sets in the student-athlete and set individual/team specific goals important to the sport
Conduct intensive training sessions while preparing athletes of all skill levels to play at a competitive level
Create a positive sporting culture to enforce discipline, nurture student needs, and model sportsman-like behavior
Must be willing to travel for Knox team sporting events
The coach will work under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director

Experience

3 years of coaching in the specific sport
Formal coach-related training is preferred

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $1,000.00 – $2,500.00 per month
