Retail Engagement and Marketing is seeking an experienced communications writer/editor who will be responsible for crafting the daily communication needed to support our customer facing teams. This role will work closely with our Store Operations and People teams – as well as other patterns across Apple – to ensure critical internal communications are timely, relevant and supportive for the needs of our Retail Store and Care Center team members. This role will be responsible for writing and curating internal communications with a focus on daily communications and unplanned response communications, including crisis communication. This person will work closely with the rest of Retail Engagement and Marketing, in particular the leads for Programmatic and Field Communications and Learning & Development. They will also have to work closely with Apple-wide communications teams, in particular Corporate Comms. The ideal candidate demonstrates outstanding copywriting and copy editing skills cross all communication channels, from online, to narrative, as well as emails and newsletters. You possess strong communication, project and time management skills, and have a proven ability to work collaboratively with others — including executive leadership — in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment. You are a motivated, self-starter who stays calm under pressure.
Key Qualifications
7-10+ years developing and presenting communication plans and strategies within a media, publishing, PR or advertising agency environment.
Extensive experience supporting corporate retail communication
Expertise in unplanned (including crisis and reputation management) comms
Possess excellent writing skills that can deliver clear messages that motivate behavior change while meeting business goals in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Experience navigating a complex group of partners. Working cross-functionally within a large business structure
Great storytelling for both tactical and operational content and vision and purpose. Able to contextualize all actions in a broader strategic narrative that ensures teams can connect messages and tasks to a higher vision
Experienced and innovative communication problem solver, knowledgeable about the powerful thinking in comms while also about to innovate within our own particulars and situations
Deep understanding of how to implement programs globally
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
Self-starter who works effectively in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing ambiguity while delivering projects to completion with minimal guidance
Strong analytical skills

Description
Work with key partners to develop a comms strategy and approach to respond to unplanned needs of our field teams including both Stores and Online teams. Partner with Stores and RCC teams to support with any specific or broader communications for the teams. Support Senior Leadership through various crises and extraordinary situations. Writes, edits, and curates field communication response to unplanned events and crises. Develop and implement response comms, processes, and procedures. Ensure feedback and insight from our teams, including engaging them in idea generation and content creation (using Loop and other potential platforms) with the necessary guardrails. Ensure readiness for Downloads in the field, partnering the editorial team to ensure download guidance is suitable and that leaders are equipped to deliver (storytelling skills, delivering priorities etc) Play a central role in key REM team engagement work streams. Ensure our credo and values are represented in all communications in the Apple tone of voice. Support and develop a response strategy for unplanned events and follow through, ensuring all users are well informed. Retail is 24/7. Need to respond to unexpected issues that may occur outside of regular working hours.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
