Indirect Loan Specialist to join our growing team in Poughkeepsie, NY.

As the Indirect Loan Specialist, you will be responsible for making quality credit decisions and funding indirect loans, factoring in the character, capacity, and collateral of each borrower, while supporting the organization’s growth goals and fostering relationships with our members, automobile dealerships, and community. You will analyze credit worthiness, follow policies and procedures during the underwriting process, and will serve as the disbursal agent for the indirect lending program.

What you’ll do as the Indirect Loan Specialist (Job Functions):

Analyze current financial position of prospective borrowers to determine degree of risk
Make lending decisions within credit union policies and guidelines
Establish terms and conditions of approved loans and review with member
Establish and maintain relationships with local car dealerships
Review indirect vehicle loan files to verify application data is complete and meets credit union standards
Clear all conditions of approval prior to loan disbursement
Disburse indirect loans, track monthly figures, and communicate with dealers on a regular basis
Review new accounts and loans opened in indirect lending department for compliance
Provide support and backup to all team members in the Lending department

What we’re looking for (Qualifications):

2-5 years of lending experience, preferably funding indirect loans
Experience working in a financial institution is desired
Experience with automobile sales is a plus
Must have flexible availability, including Saturdays

Pay: $20 – $24 / hour, based on experience
