Canacre’s clients include developers, large scale service providers, and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States. Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.

The Document Specialist is responsible for data management and document related activities for Right of Way projects including the preparation, organization and maintenance of Right-of-Way files and documents. Some travel may be required. This position will support a transmission line development.
In addition, your role will be to:

Prepare, maintain and manage Right of Way files
Compile reports, scan documents and insert data into computer systems
Prepare and perform due diligence reviews of documents including easement/option agreements and right of entry, as required
Assist in setting weekly schedules for field agents and preparing and distributing weekly schedules for each agent as required
Take minutes of all internal meetings
Assist with monitoring the daily accomplishment of designated tasks of all field agents assigned to all the projects as required
Research and prepare landowner information
Research information regarding project scopes and specific aspects of projects
Liaise with landowners and complete follow-up as directed
Compose correspondence including letters and emails as directed
Performs all project related duties requested involving Microsoft Office
Review agent employee timesheets and activity notes in time tracking software.

Qualifications:

Some college in a related field; or one or more years of experience in Paralegal, Real Estate, Title Abstracting, Land Tech, Land Acquisition or equivalent
Minimum 1-year professional office administration experience preferably in a professional services consulting environment
Knowledge of pipeline, electric and/or utilities ROW records, administrative support documents and records preferred
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills and a committed team player
Must be able to write clearly and concisely to prepare reports, specifications and correspondence
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Word and Excel
Strong organizational, file and time management skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Works well under pressure and meeting deadlines
Able to organize and set priorities, handling multiple tasks in a fast paced and changing environment
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with general PC operation
Ability to learn new computer programs rapidly
Capacity to be flexible, multi-task and maintain a great attitude
Must have a valid driver’s license
