Description:The Sensor Mechanical Antenna Architect is responsible for developing technical solutions and providing leadership across sub-market segments to drive innovative and common technologies into antenna products. This architect will champion and drive digital transformation initiatives by optimizing Sensor Mechanical design, analysis, test, production, and all hardware lifecycle phases. As a member of the Sensor Mechanical Design and Test organization at RMS, Syracuse, the antenna architect will work collaboratively across Sensors and Effectors Integrated Engineering and other architects to ensure commonality and strong program performance.

Primary responsibilities of this architect is to develop antenna architectures to meet new Airborne Radar pursuits to meet challenging size, weight, power, and cooling requirements. In addition, this role will be responsible for leading teams to common antenna design roadmaps, program execution, and installation.

Responsibilities include:

Overall ownership and accountability for shaping the definition and roadmap for the Airborne Antenna technical baseline and driving commonality across programs when appropriate
Architecture development and leadership of hardware design, assembly, integration, and production
Collaboration across sub-market segments as a subject-matter-expert consultant
Oversight and organization to enable strategic goals for overarching set of requirements, unified drawings, and accessible, controlled architecture documentation
Focus on implementation of Digital Transformation initiatives in Sensor Mechanical Antenna activities

As part of direct staff to the Sensor Mechanical Design & Test Senior Manager this Mechanical Antenna Architect needs to exhibit leadership skills to support a multi-disciplined team through hardware development (design, assembly, and test) and effectively collaborate across programs to reach shared vision and communicate those goals back to the department.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level (US citizenship required).

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in in antenna design, fabrication, assembly and test
Strong customer focus with a proven record of outstanding customer satisfaction.
Highly self-motivated and outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated interpersonal, team-building skills, strong work ethic and experience leading multi-disciplined teams through hardware development.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level (US citizenship required).

Desired Skills:

MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
Experience in mechanical design, analysis, build, and test of radar system hardware including phased arrays and their subassemblies and test facility design including development enclosures, structures, liquid and air-cooling systems, digital discretes, Radio Frequency and Fiberoptic distributions, and power systems.
Strong oral and written communications skills. Experience presenting project status to technical management, program management and the customer.
Strong proficiency in hardware development, production, supplier management and installation
Strong customer relationship skills Ability to influence and shape outcomes with senior level stakeholders
Experience in managing supplier and subcontractor performance, execution, and deliveries
High level thinker with ability to strategize and ensure design consistence across programs
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
