Job Description :
Director of Accounting (Must have start-up experience and have an F&B/ Retail/ Hospitality/ Consumer Goods background)
We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented, and organized Director of Accounting to lead our accounting team. In this position, you will play a key role in managing the finances of our business, including creating financial transactions and generating relevant reports. You will collaborate and communicate with employees, vendors, and customers to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
What you’ll do:

Oversee and lead the daily accounting operational functions
Prepare and coordinate the presentation of financial statements
Partner with business leaders and VP Finance to build annual budgets
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Act as primary liaison for external auditors and coordinate company materials for annual audit
Build and improve accounting processes, including internal control systems
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
Partner with the VP Finance, CFO and CEO on ad-hoc analyses, as needed

What we’re looking for:

5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role, ideally with a startup retail or CPG company; previous experience managing or coaching others preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of experience and education; CPA or MBA a plus but not required
Excellent communication skills – you’re a strong relationship builder and understand how to tailor your communication for the specific audience you’re addressing
Eye for detail – not only are you meticulous about your work product but you also understand how to organize yourself and manage your time in order to meet deadlines and goals
Passion for what you do – you’re excited to build out a strong accounting function for a rapidly growing business
Adaptability and flexibility – you recognize that anything can – and will – happen and you’re able to calmly troubleshoot issues and respond to changing priorities
Collaborative spirit and commitment to Levain’s core values – you’re a team player and willing to lend a hand or elevate those around you. A good sense of humor doesn’t hurt either!

Pay: $120,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
