ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mansueto Ventures Marketing Fellowship is a one-year internship designed to give recent college graduates or master’s degree recipients exposure to all aspects of marketing across both of the company’s editorial titles—Inc. and Fast Company—while providing important visibility into the business and journalism operations of the parent company through administrative support of the MV chief revenue officer, the two sales SVPs and marketing VPs of both brands.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The fellow will spend six months of the internship primarily supporting the integrated marketing and ad sales teams of Fast Company, followed by six months supporting the integrated marketing and ad sales teams of Inc. However, the curriculum will enable the fellow to interact directly with sales and marketing team members daily, plus members of the branded content studio, podcast and video teams, event producers, product teams, post-sale managers, and consumer marketing leads, as well as an array of executives, business leaders and journalists from both titles throughout the year, providing valuable insights into how media brands build top-flight client solutions across the Inc. and FastCo portfolios in an ever-changing advertising, marketing, media landscape.
Administrative duties may include helping sales and marketing teams schedule and run internal and external meetings; submitting team member expenses; working with marketing teams to update core sales and marketing materials; and aiding with organization and management of the cloud-based sales-marketing resources folder system. Where appropriate, the fellow may be invited to observe or participate in meetings with client and agency contacts related to RFPs, proactive proposals, and brand presentations.
Fellows should expect to spend roughly 10-12 hours a week supporting sales and marketing leaders with administrative duties, and about 23-25 hours a week on editorial projects.
Upon successful completion of the program, the fellow will be strongly considered for suitable marketing openings at either brand, or in cross-brand functions.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong time-management skills and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple meetings at once
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Office and other Office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
Flexible team player who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to keep company confidences
