Job Title: Business Development Manager (US Domestic)
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Seniority Level: Mid-level to Senior
Job Summary, Functions, and Responsibilities
Reporting to President, the Business Development Manager (BDM) supports VPs of Business Development and the President to achieve or exceed company sales, revenue, and margin goals. This role will be primarily focused on the U.S. market, with emphasis on US DOD markets particularly US Army. Significant knowledge of and relationship with small arms and or vehicle platforms and program offices will be required.
The BDM will initiate, develop, and maintains customer relationships supporting the company’s needs. In addition to identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, the BDM will be responsible for the development and execution of business development strategies in their assigned market.
The BDM will need to understand customer requirements, company product features and capabilities, competitive product features and capabilities, and competitor pricing. The BDM will support planning, coordination, and participation in trade shows, product demonstrations, as well as competitive events.
The Company expects the BDM to effectively manage the sales pipeline and business development metrics. The BDM is expected to share, collaborate, and support the VPs of Business Development and President as required. These activities may include tasks such as: proposal writing/management, CRM entry, quote generation, and responses to RFI’s, RFP’s, or RFQ’s for sales opportunities using the company’s tools (Salesforce CRM, ERP quoting system, etc). The BDM is expected to work collaboratively with other company personnel in execution of daily work and successful execution of company objectives.
Maintains familiarity with contracting standards, methods, and vehicles associated used by the U.S. Government. Complies with all company policies, applicable laws, and regulations in execution of duties. Demonstrates ownership of responsibilities and objectives with focus on bottom line performance. Completes other work as required.
The BDM is expected to require to travel up to 50%, which may be world-wide. Work as part of a team to achieve company goals.
Required Experience/Training/Education/Skills:

5+ years sales experience in U.S. defense, prior active duty preferred.
College Degree preferred.
Personal computer, cellular telephone, and business software proficiency including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams. Salesforce CRM experience desired.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrates strong analytical skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
Must be capable of travel domestically up to 50% of the time with limited international travel requirements.
Non-standard work hours may be occasionally required.

Additional Requirements:
Must be a US Person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations(ITAR) to be eligible.
Must be able to meet requirements for access to classified information or materials at the “SECRET” level.
